Bobby Ray Rankin was born in SanDiego California and
moved to Austin Texas in 1987 to pursue a college
degree. His music career began in 1994 when he was
asked by a friend to help him sing at a VFW hall.
Little did he know what God had in store for him
because that night would catapult him into music
career for the next several years to come. He’s
played in several bands like Rain Danc, The Fury,
Shilo and Blue Sunrising. It was during this time he
tried out for the Nashville Star and was a 1st round
winner in Austin Tx. back in 2003. He’s appeared on
radio & television commercials and has entertained for
as many as 10,000 people at the
Home Improvement Show at the Austin Convention Center
in Austin Texas.
Bobby Ray has had the blessing to have worked or

John Inmon (Jerry Jeff Walkers former gutarist)
Rick MCcray(George Straits accoustical guitarist)
Glen Fukenaga (who has played with Bonnie Rait in
Texas tours),
Fred Krc (drummer for Asleep at the Wheel)
Shawn Curtis (who Sang briefly for the Stylistics in
the 70's).
His current CD albums include: "Whiskeyville” and
"Fighting My Way Back Home " where his songs have
recently been featured on internet radio and
Texas radio stations in Brenham, Conroe and
Fredricksburg Texas for the last several years.
