Texas-based
songwriter and performer, Buck Johnson picks out a driving rhythm on
guitar, singing his gritty, yet passionate, heartfelt original songs.
He pulls an old lonesome sound together with country, rock and blues, to
create his own high-energy blend of Texas honky-tonk.
Buck wrote or co-wrote nine of the concept album's twelve gritty, yet passionately heartfelt, songs. The title track, co-written with accredited western songwriter Donnie Blanz, has already received accolades from the Austin Songwriters Group. The musical influences of Jim Lauderdale, Chris Ledoux and Dwight Yoakam can be heard throughout the album, yet “The Morning After” is a direct product of this Texas cowboy’s original, signature sound.Buck performs everywhere from dance halls, honky-tonks, fairs and festivals, to corporate functions and private parties. He currently resides in Waller County, Texas, with his wife, Ka'ren. Again, he finds himself in a home where lots of music is shared with family and friends, passing down the tradition to three daughters and a son.
For now, the circle goes unbroken.
