.She joined concert band and played the Clarinet and then later years switched to the Bass Clarinet in later years. She also joined Jazz Choir and sang in many public venues. She grew up listening to Classic Rock with her parents and Old Western Tunes with her best friend's parents.
Mary Anne may have lived in a suburb but that didn't stop her from spending time in the sticks and riding her horse. She was Country way before Country was Cool. People used to call her Country Bumpkin. She learned how to play the guitar a little and then learned the Bass Guitar. She learned how to write songs with Ron & Sue Irving.
Mary Anne played in her own band called Deputized as a Bass Player and shared the lead vocals. They started playing at Song Writer's nights at the McBurney coffee house in Langley. From there she started co-writing songs and created a 2nd band Called Glory Daze with Cory Risling. They found out that they both had owned the same horse named Glory, hence the name. She also was in an Oldies Band named Young At Heart as a lead vocalist.
One of Mary Anne’s co-writes with Kane Follis called ‘Kiss Me In the Rain’ was one of 20 song writer winners out of the whole Province of BC.
She took vocal lessons from Althea Di Gregorio and attended the Tom Jackson workshops. From there she met Steve Lindsay and began to be a back up singer for his band Wisdom. Steve then put a Band behind Mary Anne and performed in local bars.In Alberta Mary Anne started meeting people through Karaoke and attending vocal contests as a guest. There she networked and met Mark Troyer the CEO and Producer of Evergreen Sound in Calgary. Mark put together members of Brett Kissel's Band to record Mary Anne's first single.Reel You In is a fun, hopeful song of a daydreaming lover. A little sassy and cute. Mary Anne Message has been writing songs from her life experiences and has been journaling all the joy and anguish which will soon be expressed in her music which you will be able to identify with in one way or another.
She has many more songs and will be releasing an Album hopefully by late 2016 or early 2017.Your support is greatly appreciated. If you like her music then please do share her music.Thank you so very much!
Mary Anne grew up in a small town in Southern BC, Canada.
As a child she used to lipsync to her parents 45's & 80's as well as sing along to songs on her parent's 8 track in the family car.
Her love for music runs deep. You could always find her standing on the fireplace harth singing her head off to a crowd of stuffies lined up in rows on the livingroom couch.
